Gone with the Wind is an old but classic film. Rhett Buttler and Scarlett O’Hara have quite a dynamic relationship in this story that takes place in the old South.
There is something about the southern belle that has a certain romance about her. It must have something to do with social grace or that beautiful southern draw in their speech. Can you imagine living back in that time sitting on the front porch with your beau sipping on a mint julep? You would be fanning your self with an elegant lace fan while strolling down the road with your parasol under the Spanish moss laden trees.
Recently there has been a growing interest in southern Belle costumes. I suppose it is because it is just a great theme for a party, or perhaps because Halloween is quickly approaching.
