Fashion Design Colleges and Careers

Clothing, Fashion, Home Furnishings, Living, Women, by wpnetwork.

I’ve been interested in fashion and design my entire life. And I guess I got lucky when I was able to make my career in the fashion business. Now, my job is still “work” and I still hate to get out of bed on Monday mornings, but I do find the content of my job interesting and, because I have a deep knowledge of many areas of fashion and design, I’m pretty good at it.

I didn’t graduate from a fashion design college, but I took several different fashion and design classes from the big state university I attended and the smaller vocational school across town. I majored in marketing and worked in trendy retail shops all four years of college. When I graduated I went to work for one of the big fashion retailers as a buyers assistant. Okay, a buyers assistant is basically a secretary, but buyers assistants do turn in to buyers if they do a good job, and that is what I did.

So if you have a passion for fashion and you want to live and work in a big city, make sure you consider it for your career.
