Dress as Tinkerbell for Halloween
Accessories, Clothing, Fashion, Shopping, Women, by Cheryl Fraser.
Every Year there are new costumes that come out on the market for Halloween and then there are the classic favourites. One of the classics that has come out as a new design is the fairy costume. What’s new is the fact that no longer is it just the generic fairy costume but that made in the likeness of the ever beloved Tinkerbell.
Tinkerbell is a prominent Disney character that dates back to the original Peter Pan concept. Tinkerbell is a fairy sprite who is a secondary character in the Peter Pan story, though she plays a vital role. It was her pixy dust that enabled the children to fly to never never land as well as Captain Hook’s ship.
Tinkerbell has always been a character in Disney films and series that has quite a bit of attitude, and this is also demonstrated when she made her direct to DvD movie appearance in her two starting roles. These were a huge hit among young girls and as such is the reason that Disney has commissioned the Tinkerbell costume to be fashioned after the design from the movies.
Along with Tinkerbell you can also get an outfit that is made in the likeness of one of Tinkerbell’s fairy friends. These are sure to sell well this coming season, and are great if you have a little daughter and her friends (or sister) are all into fairies.
If you do not want to buy a child Tinkerbell costume for her, (or yourself), or do not like the overall design of them, they are rather easy to make, although do take some time. You are going to need a skirt that resembles one that Tinkerbell wears, and a simple plain shirt. Then you are going to need the wings. These can be the trickiest part to get or make, but it is possible to do both. The nice thing about Tinkerbell is that there is so many different interpretations of her that there are endless possibilities for a good design – all you need is for your Tinkerbell dress to be green.
One thing you are going to have to decide on is whether you are going to include fairy dust in with your costume. This would be easy to do with a small pouch and some gold glitter or confetti but be warned that it can lead to a big mess if you are giving it to a little kid. Plus it may get in the way of holding the candy bag.
At the end of the day have fun with it, and be safe.
