Collecting Vintage Jewelry

Collectibles, Jewelry, by JackieJohnson.

Vintage Antiques are fun to collect. There are so many unique Ring Styles, each of which can be the theme of a collector.

Collectors looking for unique pieces of jewelry do not have to look too far.

Vintage antique rings come in many styles, but one of the most popular in today’s market is that of the Edwardian era. These rings were created to show the opulence of the period from 1901 to around 1920. Edward VII reigned during this time and this style of ring was made to show the extravagance of the King. Intricate filigree designs can be found on an Edwardian ring that include a bezel or pave set stone.

Another style that is popular for antique gold jewelry is that of the art deco movement. These rings were made popular by the design houses of Tiffany, Cartier and Mauboussin, just to name a few. These pieces of antique jewelry have a sleek design that comes from using diamonds enhanced with contrasting colors, such as black onyx. The art deco period is synonymous with the roaring twenties and the jewelry is just as flamboyant. During this time was when the extraordinary Asscher cuts and the emerald cuts surfaced for diamonds. Rings that are uncovered in classical antiquities shops that have the art deco style are beautiful and very expensive.

Finding vintage antique rings can prove to be exhausting. However, with so many replicas out on the market, a person can surely find the best piece of jewelry for their hand. The jewels of the past have long shown how beautiful and opulent the period was, but to own a piece of history can prove to be exciting and thrilling for the avid antique gold collector. Vintage jewelry can offer a person a glimpse into the world of the past!
